Things I Love That Aren't Writing





It's no secret that I love to write. Ever since I was a little girl I created elaborate stories in my head. As a result, I played with dolls much longer than I'll ever admit to here (shout-out to all the innocents). But when I'm not writing there's no lack of things for me to enjoy. I'm sharing some of my loves here in hopes that you'll do the same - lets get to know each other better. 

1. My Family - If you follow me on social media, you've probably figured out that I love my family. There is nothing I rather do than spend time with my loved ones. I've been unspeakably blessed to have some really great people in my life and I don't take it for granted. Without a doubt, my #1 favorite thing to so is create memories with those that I love. 

2. Houses. I love historic houses, new builds, unique domains, and off the grid residences. I simply LOVE homes. I can spend an unusual amount of time looking at sites like Zillow or watching YouTube, touring homes and imagining the things I'd do if they were mine. I'll even travel to homes I've come across online (if they're close enough) - it's become somewhat of an obsession.

3. Being in the Great Outdoors. There's nothing better than a beautiful sunny day. A walk through the woods, chilling by the water, or riding through the countryside is all I need to have a good time. I love exploring new places - near and far. Last summer, I even started hiking. I'm always down for an adventure. 

4. Reading. It kind of goes without saying that most writers enjoy reading as well. And while I absolutely adore the classics & fangirl over contemporary greats, my guilty pleasure is without a doubt Reddit stories. I can spend a ridiculous amount of time reading short fictional tales, advice columns, and blog posts. 

5. DIY projects & The Dollar Tree. Although these could be two different loves, they somewhat go hand-in-hand. While I love them both separately, there's nothing like Dollar Tree DIY's. I love searching the net for new projects as well as thinking up and creating my own. It's amazing what you can do with $10 and a little bit of time.

6. Conspiracy Theories. Yes, I'm totally that girl! Mention anything mysterious, supernatural, or secretive and you totally have my attention 👽. While I don't believe every conspiracy theory I hear, some coincidences are just too much to ignore. Ya'll let me know if you wanna discuss some things, because I'm totally down!

Why I Lean Towards Self-Publishing a Little More Each Day

./''/ Even before I decided to seriously peruse writing, I dreamed of being a traditionally published author. I wanted nothing more than to be signed to one of the big named publishing houses - but recently, that's all changed.  Don't get me wrong, if the opportunity ever presents itself (in the right way) I'll hop on it, but it's no longer my "dream".
